| Buying Tips | |
|---|---|
| Buying tips | Rust isn't the major issue with these, but other problems are legion - most notably in the drive train department. Engine rebuild costs are horrendous in terms of labour, so make sure that V6 is purring like a kitten. If not, consider walking away unless your pockets are very deep. Electrics are a typical weak-spot, and don't be surprised if it's letter rainwater in, too... |
| Practical Classics Verdict | |
|---|---|
| For | Buy a good one, and you'll love it to bits... |
| Against | A bad one will descend rapidly into the realms of nightmare... |
| Verdict | A V6 powered rear driven transaxled Alfa Romeo surely ticks all the boxes, yet somehow it just doesn't appeal as it should. Still a great car - firmly ensconced in the Eighties... |
